Rețele Electrice România, part of the PPC Group in Romania, launched on the electronic public procurement platform SEAP a public tender with an estimated maximum value of around 59 million euros (VAT excluded), for the purchase of power transformers, which will be used in investment projects carried out between 2025 and 2030.

The tender, which has a maximum total value of 58,187,208 euros, is for the purchase of two types of transformers, three-phase power transformers for IT/MV and MV/MV respectively.

“Power transformers are essential equipment for electricity distribution. Considering our strategic plan for modernization and construction of new power substations, as well as minimizing the impact on the environment, we are launching this tender for power transformers, through which we want to purchase the necessary for the next 5 years. The distribution network is continuously growing, consumption and production needs, digitalization, evolve and develop rapidly, stimulated by the energy transition. Our goal and role is to continuously improve, develop and expand the grid, so that our customers benefit from efficient and resilient services in the electricity supply.” said Mihai Pește, General Manager of Rețele Electrice România.

The contract will run for 60 months. To encourage sustainable practices, the company has included specific criteria in the selection process. Bidders demonstrating the use of recyclable packaging will receive an additional score in the evaluation of technical offers. This underlines the company’s concern for environmental protection and the implementation of green solutions in the supply chain.

This initiative is part of a wide-ranging energy infrastructure investment plan, through which the company aims to reduce technological losses, improve service quality and increase the capacity to integrate renewable energy sources into the grid.
