E.ON Cool installations up by 11 percent in the first half of 2025

In the context of the high outdoor temperatures that Romania has faced in recent months, E.ON Energie Romania recorded an 11 percent increase in installations for the E.ON Cool solution. Thus, the number of air conditioners installed in the first half reached over 3,580, representing an average of 20 units per day, but there were also days when even three times more units were installed.

The number of Romanians in urban and rural areas who own at least one air conditioner has increased significantly, by 6 percent compared to June 2024, currently reaching 51 percent, mainly due to the Bucharest-Ilfov region, where 82 percent of the population owns such a device, shows a study conducted in June 2025, on a sample of 1,000 people, by the company E.ON Energie Romania.

“Efficient cooling solutions are currently a necessity for the comfort and health of families. We continue to develop efficient and safe solutions for every home, and we are pleased that over 33,000 families have chosen E.ON cooling solutions. However, it is also essential to use air conditioners responsibly, to limit the impact on energy consumption and associated costs. In addition to choosing efficient equipment, we recommend that users pay attention to the settings and maintenance of the equipment”, said Claudia Griech, General Manager of E.ON Energie Romania.

The intention to purchase an air conditioner in the next year remains high, with 22 percent of respondents declaring that they will purchase such an appliance. The most important criteria in choosing one are: price, energy consumption and the power of the appliance. At the same time, 54 percent of those who want to purchase an AC appliance would opt for a smart one (controlled via mobile phone applications), and 42 percent for one with an Inverter, the E.ON study also shows.
