Holcim Romania, investment of over 5 million euros in a limestone sand production line in Turda

Holcim Romania announces an investment of over 5 million euros in the Turda plant, by launching a production line aimed at diversifying the product portfolio and opening up new opportunities in the construction, agriculture and livestock sectors.

This initiative, supported by a modern infrastructure, will allow the production and delivery of limestone sand in the form of niche products, such as limestone filler for agriculture and livestock, and synergies with the construction aggregates segment, already existing within the company.

The launch of Neutrosol 9 and VivaMax® 200 marks the expansion of the business area Holcim Romania develops solutions for agriculture and animal husbandry by launching two new products: Neutrosol 9 for agriculture and VivaMax® 200 for animal husbandry.

This expansion strengthens Holcim’s position as a reliable partner not only in the construction sector, but also in the agricultural and animal husbandry sectors. Neutrosol 9 is a natural soil amendment, based on high-purity calcium carbonate (CaCO₃ >97%), specially selected to neutralize and balance acidic soils. Containing natural minerals, ground in different particle sizes, Neutrosol 9 significantly improves the pH, physical, chemical and biological qualities of the soil. By promoting nutrient absorption and improving soil structure, Neutrosol 9 contributes to increased productivity, crop resistance and healthy plant development. VivaMax® 200 is a product with a high content of calcium ions, a key ingredient in animal nutrition. Recognized for its essential role in supporting the health and harmonious growth of animals, VivaMax® 200 represents an indispensable natural source of calcium. Its use has beneficial effects on the development of the bone, muscular and digestive systems of animals. The investment marks an important step in the development of the company’s aggregates division. The limestone sand, intended primarily for sale to dry mortar manufacturers, offers a competitive, sustainable and affordable local alternative to traditional aggregates.
