Transelectrica recorded a net profit of 158 million RON in the first quarter of 2025, up 52 percent compared to the same period of last year, according to the financial report submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The segment of activities with allowed profit recorded a positive result of 129 million RON in Q1 2025 compared to the result of 109 million RON achieved in Q1 2024, given that operating income increased by 55 million RON, correlated with a smaller increase in expenses (including depreciation), respectively by 35 million RON, the company shows.
The increase in operating income (587 million RON, as of March 31, 2025, compared to 532 million RON, as of March 31, 2024) was mainly influenced by the increase in revenues from the regulated tariff, in the context of the increase in the tariffed quantity of energy (+2.6%), revenues from the allocation of interconnection capacity and revenues from ITC.
Revenues from transportation and other revenues from the energy market recorded an increase of 70 million RON, respectively from 506 million RON in Q1 2024 to 576 million RON in Q1 2025, mainly influenced by the increase in the quantity of electricity and the tariff approved by ANRE, which led to an appreciation of revenues from the regulated tariff by 62 million RON (+15%) compared to the same period of the previous year.
Revenues from the allocation of interconnection capacity also increased (+24 million RON) which in the period January – March 2025 reached 69 million RON (from 45 million RON in the same period in 2024), an increase influenced by the price formation model based on supply and demand. Implicit allocations, in which capacity and energy are simultaneously provided, are strongly influenced by variations in the price of electricity on European exchanges.
