Distributie Oltenia to install 10,000 smart meters in Craiova

Distributie Oltenia will install 10,000 smart meters in the central area of Craiova. Smart metering is part of the strategic investment directions of Distributie Oltenia operator, being an important component of the SMART Transformation project by which the company aims to digitize its entire activity, for the benefit of energy consumers.

Setting up the meters does not involve any cost to the consumers. They will be notified in advance about the period in which the conventional are to be replaced in order to ensure access to the places of consumption.

In the near future, Distributie Oltenia intends to start projects for the implementation of smart meters throughout its activity area (Arges, Dolj, Gorj, Mehedinti, Olt, Teleorman and Valcea counties) as follows:

2020 – 31,236 smart meters;
2021 – 83,332 smart meters;
2022 – 83,549 smart meters;
2023 – 83,585 smart meters;
2024 – 98,767 smart meters.
