    Knauf Insulation starts production of glass mineral wool in Romania

    Knauf Insulation has announced the start of production of glass mineral wool at its Târnăveni factory. The company, part of the Knauf Group, has invested over 140 million euros in the state-of-the-art production facility to transform the Târnăveni factory into the company’s most advanced technological facility in Central and Eastern Europe.

    The factory will have the capacity to produce 75,000 tons of glass mineral wool to meet the growing demand of customers in Romania and the entire region.

    Dominique Bossan, CEO Europe, Middle East and Asia and member of the Knauf Group Management Committee, said: “The new factory is a remarkable achievement for the production of advanced technological solutions and opens an exciting new chapter in the history of our company. The start-up phase comes at a time when demand for our insulation solutions is growing throughout the region.     Radek Bedrna, Managing Director Eastern Europe and Middle East of Knauf Insulation, said: “Târnăveni plays an important role in meeting the growing demand for glass mineral wool solutions in the Central and Eastern Europe region, which is home to five out of seven European Union countries with the greatest potential for gas savings from residential building insulation. More than 50% of gas consumption can be reduced in Romania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. Building owners need access to good quality, affordable and sustainable renovation solutions, and Knauf Insulation is committed to providing them with this.”
