    Transelectrica recorded net profit of 410 million RON, up 99 percent in the first nine months

    Transelectrica recorded a net profit of 410 million RON, up 99 percent in the first nine months, according to the financial report submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

    The segment of activities with permitted profit registered a positive result in the amount of 424 million RON in 9M 2024, increasing compared to the result in the amount of 320 million RON achieved in 9M 2023, given that operating revenues increased by 16 percent (241 million RON), correlated with an increase in expenses (including depreciation) by 12 percent (138 million RON).

    The increase in operating revenues (1,745 million RON in 9M 2024 compared to 1,504 million RON in 9M 2023) was mainly influenced by the increase in revenues from the regulated tariff (+63 million RON), in the context of the increase in the amount of energy charged (+2.3  percent), of revenues from CPT transactions (+50.8 million RON), of revenues from accident aid (+61.2 million RON), of revenues from CPT capitalization (+46.6 million RON), as well as the registration of short-term income represented by additional payment obligations legally recovered according to Civil Decision no. 6169/2023.

    Interconnection revenues registered a decrease from 255 million RON in 9M 2023 to 189 million RON in 9M 2024, corresponding to the level of utilization of interconnection capacity availability by electricity market traders. The interconnection capacity allocation market is volatile, with prices evolving based on demand and the need for electricity market participants to purchase interconnection capacity.

    Operating expenses (including amortization) registered a 12 percent increase (1,321 million RON in 9M 2024 compared to 1,183 million RON 9M 2023), mainly influenced by the increase in system operation expenses (in the context in which the costs of purchasing energy to cover consumption technological own were in the amount of 434 million RON, higher by 15 percent (+57 million RON) compared to 9M 2023), of personnel expenses as well as other expenses.
