Nuclearelectrica announces the automatic disconnection of Unit 1 Cernavoda from the National Energy System

    Published on

Nuclearelectrica announces that Unit 1 of CNE Cernavodă automatically disconnected from the National Energy System on August 26 due to a malfunction in the classical part of the plant (protection of a power discharge transformer), with no impact on nuclear safety.

“CNE Cernavodă’s specialists are investigating the cause with a view to remedying it in accordance with the applicable procedures. The automatic shutdown and the remedial works have no impact on nuclear safety, personnel and the general public,” a release shows.

Nuclearelectrica will issue a release when Unit 1 is resynchronized to the National Power System.
