Monsson completed the sale of a 61 MW photovoltaic park to Nala Renewables

    Published on

Monsson, the largest developer of renewable energy projects in Romania, has announced the sale of a new photovoltaic project ready to connect to the grid in 2025.

In June, Monsson and Nala Renewables successfully concluded a transaction for a 61 MW photovoltaic park in Caraș-Severin County. Construction of the park is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2024, and the project would be operational and connected to Romania’s electricity grid in the following year.

Once operational, the plant will generate approximately 80,000 MWh of clean energy per year, representing the energy consumption of approximately 13,000 households, as well as saving approximately 39,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions per year.

The project includes the possibility of capacity expansion, by adding a battery energy storage system (BESS), which Nala Renewables intends to integrate into the park in Caraș-Severin County.

“We are delighted to have completed our first acquisition with Monsson, who has significant experience in developing and operating renewable energy projects in Romania,” said Will Herlinger, Director at Nala Renewables. “It is an attractive country for developing, acquiring, building and operating renewable energy projects, partly due to a favourable regulatory environment driven by ambitious renewable energy targets. We expect to remain active in the CEE region for years to come,” added the Director of Nala Renewables.

“We are delighted to partner with Nala Renewables on this project and support their activities in the CEE region. Monsson is committed to its role in ensuring a fair transition to clean energy and a stable energy system. All our current projects include energy storage solutions in batteries, because our vision is that renewable energy can be provided in the lane”, said Sebastian Enache, Head of M&A at Monsson.
