Delgaz Grid invested 35 million RON last year in 200,000 natural gas meters

    Published on

In 2023, Delgaz Grid invested over 35 million RON for the purchase and installation of over 200,000 natural gas meters, representing 10 percent of the approximately 2 million meters in the gas installations of the company’s consumers.

About 150,000 meters were installed at customers’ gas installations where the meters were metrologically overdue, and 50,000 were installed at new customers. At the same time, last year another 100,000 metrologically recertified meters were installed in laboratories authorized and supervised by the Romanian Bureau of Legal Metrology.

According to current regulations, the replacement of natural gas meters is done when they are due from a metrological point of view, at an interval of eight years. Meter reading is done by natural gas distribution companies once every three months, for manually read devices, and monthly for remotely read devices.

The measuring devices are the property of the distribution network operator, and their replacement is done in the presence of the building owner, to resume the supply in safe conditions.
