Starting from March 1, 2024, Radu Oniga will take over the position of general manager of HORNBACH in Romania. He succeeds Mugurel-Horia Rusu, who held the position of general manager since 2005. In Romania, HORNBACH currently operates nine Drive-In building and gardening materials stores.

Radu Oniga (43 years old) studied at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (department with German language teaching). He then worked as a buyer of non-food products in an international company. In 2006, he joined HORNBACH as a procurement employee (buyer) for the range of wood products, building materials and prefabs. In 2017, he took over the regional management of the e-business Department and, in this capacity, played a key role in driving the development of the online store in Romania and the digitization of the business model.

“Radu Oniga will continue its successful development in Romania thanks to its many years of experience. We are delighted to have found such a committed and experienced colleague for this important task,” said Jan Hornbach, member of the Board of Directors of HORNBACH Baumarkt AG, responsible for the European national companies.
