Energy companies have the capacity and possibility to do entrepreneurship, they have the capacity to develop new start-ups, spin offs that do, for example, cybersecurity, Sabin Sarmas, chairman of the Committee for Digitization in the Chamber of Deputies, said at the Energy Cyber Security Forum in Cluj Napoca, according to Financial Intelligence.

“Of course you cannot avoid companies that can give you cyber security and resilience solutions tomorrow, but if we want to truly value the Romanian school, if we want to create more added value, more intellectual property, Romanian IT, then we must also create our own capabilities and opportunity. You should know that, in terms of cyber security, not only Romania suffers, but also the most developed countries in the world. There is a moment when, if we take Romanian talent, whether it is in Romania or outside Romania, we can, with the know-how of those in the energy industry, create such solutions,” he explained.

According to Sabin Sarmas, IT professionals no longer leave Romania for salaries, because it is much cooler to be an IT specialist in Cluj than to be an IT specialist in London, but they go to London for the opportunities they have there: “You should know that IT professionals no longer leave Romania for salaries, because it is much cooler to be an IT specialist in Cluj than to be an IT specialist in London, I guarantee you that. He goes to London for the opportunities he has there, because they are on a whole new level. The chance for us also comes from these young people who have left home. And we were talking about opportunities.”
