“Listing on the stock market also creates opportunities for Hidroelectrica, one of the most significant of which is to attract additional capital and to finance investments in the expansion and modernization of its assets. We rely on Hidroelectrica for the development of Romania’s energy infrastructure and for reaching the targets European Union established through the Fit for 55 and REPower EU programs We rely heavily on this company to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels,” Sebastian Burduja, Minister of Energy, said.

“Another effect of listing on the stock exchange is to maximize the company’s transparency and ensure that all corporate governance premises are met. Starting today, Hidroelectrica will be subject to strict rules and regulations that will guarantee the protection of investors’ interests and ensure equal treatment for all shareholders. By doing so, the company demonstrates its commitment to ethical standards and good business practice. Finally, stock market listing provides investment opportunities for the public. Any Romanian, and generally any person who believes in Hidroelectrica’s growth potential, can purchase shares and benefit from the possible increase in their value. Hidroelectrica has demonstrated that it can be sustainably successful, that it is a performing company, professionally managed and that it is irremediably inscribed on a path of national and, why not, regional development.”
