JW Marriott Bucharest: Listen to your people and learn

    Published on

“Looking back at the past 15 years, I would say that the biggest and most significant achievement of JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel is the tremendous contribution to the hospitality industry in Romania,” Tino Lindner, General Manager of JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, tells The Diplomat – Bucharest.

“We achieved our vision of being a leading luxury hotel in Romania, by putting people first, and constantly growing talent. It is our associates (employees) who are our most valuable asset. We have inspired and developed so many talents that are now general managers or discipline leaders in our market and beyond. We’ve been shaping an amazing service culture that had an impact in making Romania a great destination, while continuing to inspire many to join the hospitality field.”

    Business achievements

One of the key initiatives for us in 2019 was the completion of the rooms renovation, with an investment of 4.5 million Euro, says Lindner. “We are very proud to offer the latest in comfort and style through our newly reimagined 402 rooms and suites, the largest in Bucharest,” he adds. “The launch of the loyalty dining program Club Connoisseur is also one of the highlights of this year, enabling guests to enjoy more benefits and offer them more choice whenever dining or staying with us or in other participating luxury hotels in Eastern Europe.”

He goes on to say that JW Marriott continues to invest in shaping best digital experiences for its guests: mobile check in, mobile key, or mobile dining coming soon that will revolutionize the guest experience for ordering food and beverage. “The beautiful challenge is to keep up with all technology updates and help our associates integrate the new apps into their daily routine, in such a way that makes their jobs more engaging and more efficient,” says Lindner.

In his opinion, the year ahead is very promising: “In 2020 Bucharest is the host of 4 football matches in the EURO championship and we can expect many spectators, officials, Teams and sponsors to stayv in our city. I expect Bucharest to gain more visibility and continuation to grow as a strong business and leisure destination, while maintaining a high level of competitiveness.”

The key focus for JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel continues to be on creating “exceptional experiences for guests, enabling them to be present in mind, nourished in body and revitalized in spirit.”

    Inspiring message

Tino Lindner shares a quote by J.W. Marriott from an interview for NY Times: “The four most important words in the English language are: ‘What Do You Think?’ Listen to your people and learn.”
