    Distributie Energie Electrica Romania received financing for two projects through the Modernization Fund

    The Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu, announced the signing of two contracts for the realization and modernization of electricity distribution networks, the beneficiary being Distributie Energie Electrica Romania.

    According to the minister, the first project is “Transformation station 110/20kv Sibiu West, Sibiu municipality”. The total value of the project is 70.3 million lei including VAT, and the deadline set for the completion of the investment is June 30, 2025. At the same time, the maximum amount secured from the Modernization Fund is 45.1 million lei, representing 80% of the project’s eligible expenses.

    Through the implementation of this project, investments will be made in the energy infrastructure to ensure the safe, secure, and continuous operation of electricity distribution services.

    The second project is the “Modernization of the 110 kV electricity distribution networks in the area of the Centre – Airport – Ioşia – Mecanica – Oradea municipality electrical transformation stations”.

    According to the Minister of Energy, the total value of the project is 201.9 million lei, including VAT, and the deadline set for the completion of the investment is June 30, 2026. The maximum amount secured from the Modernization Fund is 126.2 million lei, representing 80% of the eligible expenses of the project.

    The objectives of the project, correlated with those of the Modernization Fund, are ensuring the safety of electricity supply to existing consumers in the Industrial Zone of the Oradea municipality, increasing the distribution capacity of the 110 kV networks in the Industrial Zone of the Oradea municipality, as well as increasing the degree of safety in operation.
