ING Bank Romania registered a net profit of over one billion lei in 2021, up 109 percent compared to 2020.

Mihaela Bîtu, CEO of ING Bank Romania, stated: “ING Romania had solid results last year, results that place us today in a good position to navigate turbulent times. As before, we will be with our customers, ING’s strategy being focused on customer needs and their experience in our relationship with us. All the services, products and functionalities that we have chosen to implement in recent years have the role of giving them control and autonomy when it comes to their own finances, a welcome control in this context.

Over the past year, we have achieved an 18 percent increase in loans to individuals and companies, amid a positive macroeconomic situation and a reduction in the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the same time, the deposits attracted from our customers increased by 13 percent. These favorable developments, together with the reversal of a significant proportion of the costs of risk provisions recorded in 2020, have led to a very good financial performance.

True to our direction of digitization and innovation, we have continued to develop our range of products and services online. We also focus on our contribution to the sustainable development of our clients’ business and our commitment to sustainability.”
