    Nuclearelectrica announces that Unit 2 of Cernavoda NPP has automatically disconnected from the National Energy System

    Nuclearelectrica announces that Unit 2 of Cernavoda NPP was automatically disconnected from the National Energy System on the evening of July 28, 2021, as a result of a transient in the energy system that affected the classic part, without affecting the nuclear safety functions of the unit.

    The automatic disconnection of Unit 2 took place in safe conditions, all the systems of the unit functioning and responding according to the project in such situations, according to a release.

    The automatic disconnection of Unit 2 as well as remediation works have no impact on the nuclear safety of the reactor, the personnel of the unit, the population and the environment.
