E.ON Energie România completed the works for the second school included in the program “Energy in childhood schools”

E.ON Energie Romania recently completed the works at the second school included this year in the program “Energy in childhood schools“, Păstrăveni Secondary School, Neamț County.

Thus, in all the approximately 30 classes of the Păstrăveni School, to which are added the technical and common spaces, the lighting system was completely replaced, by installing new bodies, based on LED technology. Starting this month, about 500 preschoolers and students and teachers of the school will enjoy better study conditions, where the light given by the new system is almost faithful to natural light, reaching 98% of natural light.

By replacing the lighting lamps and supplementing them in the classroom, a favorable climate was created for the learning process, which for us as a school unit has long been a desideratum, but very difficult to implement on our own,” said Prof. Dorina. Chirilă, director of the Păstrăveni Secondary School.

Neutral light stimulates mental activity, being the most recommended for educational spaces. At the same time, LED lighting fixtures bring significant savings in electricity consumption for lighting, which also means lower electricity bills. Moreover, LED tube lighting also has a longer lifespan than conventional systems, which makes this investment sustainable over time, reducing their maintenance costs. LED tubes reach between 50,000 and 100,000 operating hours.

To date, E.ON has invested over 3.5 million euros to improve study conditions and streamline energy consumption in schools. The program, started in 2012, covered 63 schools in 18 counties, with about 40,000 students and teachers as direct beneficiaries. A total of 32,500 new lighting fixtures and 80,000 LED tubes were installed.
