    Published on

The Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport in Otopeni has announced that UTI Group is the winner of a tender for the upgrade and expansion of the airport’s video surveillance system, and the company will earn 4.6 million Euro excluding VAT for the contract, which will be valid until April 2023, Business Review reads.

The tender procedure began in November 2017. Besides UTI Group, the following companies had submitted offers: Mira Telecom, Rasirom, Telekom Romania Communications, the Radiocommunications Services Centre, Helinick, Kardinal BUid AG, Microcip Electronics, Morningstar Consulting and Ipsateq Consult.

When it is complete, the video surveillance system (TVCI) will allow the automatic recognition of vehicle license plates and will also include face recognition software and intelligent video analysis.

The upgrade will also include an enlargement of the current coverage of the system via a number of new cameras, as well as an upgrade of the existing video data centre.
