    Nuclearelectrica extends the planned outage of Cernavoda NPP unit 2

    Nuclearelectrica announces the extension of the planned outage program of Cernavoda NPP Unit 2, scheduled to be reconnected to the national energy grid on June 13, in order to remedy problems occurred at the electric system, on the classical part of the power plant.

    The problems were identified during the tests performed on the occasion of the resynchronization to the national power grid, after the planned outage period started on May 9 and are currently under investigation and remediation.

    “SN Nuclearelectrica SA will issue more information regarding the resynchronization of Unit 2 of Cernavoda NPP to the SEN, after the completion of the remediation works. We state the fact that the works do not impact nuclear safety, the personnel and population and are carried out in compliance with the provisions of the power plant,” a release shows.
