    Nuclearelectrica initiates Cernavoda NPP Unit 2 planned outage program starting May 9

    Nuclearelectrica (“SNN”) announces that Cernavoda NPP Unit 2 will enter the planned outage program, starting with May 9, 2021. The Unit will be desynchronized from the National Power Grid at 11:00 hours. The planned outages are complex projects, initiated with 24 months before the established date, with dedicated project management teams, a completion schedule and adequate planning of human and budgetary resources.

    During the planned outage, activities from the following programs will be carried out: preventive and corrective maintenance program; inspections program; mandatory testing program during planned outages; project changes implementation program.

    The works will be performed under safe conditions for the plant personnel, public and environment in accordance with the approved procedures applied by the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant as well as in compliance with all the COVID 19 protection measures, SNN announces.
