E.ON Romania starts this month the execution works for the energy efficiency of the public lighting system of two localities (Gataia and Sculia) in Timis County. The value of the contract is around 1.7 million Euro.

The company will develop and hand over to the local authorities an intelligent public lighting system, which will replace the current one and which will reduce by at least 47 percent the electricity consumption for public lighting.

The new system involves the installation of 1,162 LED lamps, the expansion of the network with 165 poles, of which 125 will be supplied with energy produced by photovoltaic panels and the implementation of an intelligent control system, through remote management.

E.ON has modernized, starting with 2018, the public lighting systems in 27 localities in Romania, providing partner local authorities with projects that included the preparation of technical documentation and obtaining permits and authorizations, as well as support for financing the investment for up to 5 years.
