OSCAR Downstream invests 70 million RON in developing two service areas on the A7 Motorway

    Published on

OSCAR Downstream, Romania’s largest independent fuel distributor, with 100% Romanian capital, announces the signing of a concession agreement with the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR) for the development and operation of two service areas on the A7 Motorway, along the Buzău–Focșani section.

The 30-year concession agreement involves a total investment of 70 million RON and covers the construction, equipment, operation and maintenance of two service areas located at kilometre 131 of the motorway, near the town of Milcovul, one on each direction of travel.

“OSCAR Downstream is a company built in Romania, with Romanian capital, which has grown through investment, consistency and confidence in the potential of this market. Over the past 25 years, we have demonstrated that we can develop a competitive business, backed by solid infrastructure and a long-term vision. Today, with our RON 70 million investment in the Moldavia Motorway, we are taking another step in this direction. This is more than an expansion of our operations. It confirms that we have the experience, resources and ambition to contribute to Romania’s development. We are proud of what we have built and will continue to invest here in Romania, with the same confidence in the future,” said Nicolae Bănică, CEO of OSCAR Downstream.

The two service areas will provide modern facilities for refuelling, parking, rest and retail services, tailored to the needs of both passenger vehicle drivers and professional transport operators.

Each location will include fuel stations, retail and food service facilities, parking spaces for passenger cars, trucks and coaches, as well as sanitary facilities accessible to people with disabilities.

The project will also incorporate electric vehicle charging infrastructure through a partnership with PPC Blue, part of the PPC Group. Each service area will feature at least four 150 kW charging points for light electric vehicles and at least seven charging points with a minimum capacity of 350 kW for heavy electric vehicles.
