    Filip & Company assists Mozaik Investments with the acquisition of several fitness centres

    Published on

    Filip & Company law firm has provided legal assistance to the private equity fund Mozaik Investments, through its project company M-Ventures, in relation to the acquisition of several fitness centres:

    – The acquisition of the No1 Fitness business from Nordic Fitness Group S.R.L.;

    – The acquisition of the shares in City Gym, a local operator owning five fitness centres in Bacău, Focșani and Roman;

    – The acquisition of the assets of Urban Gym and Vera Wellness Gym, which operate fitness centres in Bucharest;

    – The acquisition of Fit4U, the largest fitness network in Oradea, which operates five fitness centres in Oradea (a transaction expected to be finalised in the coming months). These transactions form part of Mozaik Investments’ strategy to develop the Urban Fitness network, a low-cost fitness concept based on the high value, low price (HVLP) model.

    Through these acquisitions, together with other clubs currently under development, the Urban Fitness network will grow to 15 locations and is set to continue its expansion through both acquisitions and organic growth, aiming to operate 25 clubs by the end of the year.

    “It is always a pleasure to work alongside investors who are committed to long-term development and who recognise opportunities in markets with significant growth potential. We are delighted to have partnered with Mozaik Investments on these transactions and would like to thank them for the trust they have placed in us. We wish them every success in developing Urban Fitness and in implementing their growth plans”, said Andreea Bănică, counsel at Filip & Company.

    The Filip & Company team that advised Mozaik Investments on these projects was coordinated by Alexandru Bîrsan (managing partner) and included in key roles Andreea Bănică (counsel), Simona Ungureanu (counsel), Lavinia Cazacu (senior associate), Georgiana Lazăr (associate) and Paola Nardelli (associate).
