    Cosmin Ghiță steps down as CEO of Nuclearelectrica

    Cosmin Ghiță, CEO of Nuclearelectrica, has requested the termination of his management mandate, with the company set to announce the effective date of his resignation, Nuclearelectrica announced on Tuesday.

    The company informed shareholders and investors that it was notified on August 25, 2026, of Ghiță’s request to terminate his mandate agreement with Nuclearelectrica. The effective date of the termination will be communicated at a later time.

    Nuclearelectrica thanked Cosmin Ghiță for his contribution to the company’s development during his tenure as CEO.

    Ghiță has led Nuclearelectrica since September 2, 2017, when he was appointed CEO on an initial four-month interim mandate. He was subsequently appointed for a four-year term starting February 11, 2019. His current mandate began on February 12, 2023, and was due to expire on February 12, 2027.

    The company did not provide further details regarding the reasons for Ghiță’s decision.
