Reţele Electrice România launches a tender of up to 59 million lei for investments in the medium voltage network

    Published on

Reţele Electrice România, part of the PPC group, has launched on the electronic public procurement platform SEAP, an auction with an estimated maximum value of about 59 million lei (excluding VAT). It aims at the acquisition of fully equipped secondary stations in precast concrete tires that will be used in investment projects carried out between 2026 and 2030.

Thus, Reţele Electrice România will purchase, through this tender, secondary stations in precast concrete tires, equipped with medium voltage equipment (24 kV), integrated into compact “MINIBOX” solutions, intended for the modernization and expansion of the electricity distribution network. This equipment, delivered ready assembled from the factory, ensures the efficient and safe transport and distribution of electricity between the components of the grid infrastructure. Their use helps to reduce installation times, increase system reliability and optimize the space occupied at distribution points. The new secondary stations, once installed, will be integrated into the remote network management system.

The investment is part of the network development program and aims to increase distribution capacity, facilitate the integration of new energy sources and connect new consumers, in the context of increasing electricity demand. At the same time, it contributes to increasing the reliability and resilience of infrastructure in the face of climate change and new consumption needs generated by urbanization and the emergence of decentralized forms of production, while ensuring a more efficient distribution service better adapted to current requirements.

“We continue to invest in the modernization and expansion of the electricity distribution network, in order to respond to the increase in consumer demand, facilitate the integration of new energy sources and support the connection of new users. By purchasing fully equipped secondary stations in precast concrete tires, we are providing the necessary resources for future projects, while contributing to increasing the reliability and resilience of the infrastructure, including in the context of climate change and the development of decentralised production, as well as to providing a more efficient distribution service adapted to the current needs of consumers”, said Mihai Pește, General Director of Reţele Electrice România.

The tender for the purchase of fully equipped transformer substations in precast concrete tires will have a deadline for submitting bids on SEAP until 25.05.2026, and the awarded contract will have a duration of 48 months.
