The startup eYou Social announces the pre-launch of eYou, a new social media application born in Romania, with the ambition of becoming a credible European alternative in a market dominated by global players.
The project is backed by an initial 300,000 euros investment and aims to introduce a new model centered on trust, transparency, and diversity of perspectives.
At a time when European debates increasingly focus on digital sovereignty and technological independence, eYou positions itself as an entrepreneurial initiative contributing to a stronger European presence in the social media landscape.
eYou is a European-designed social media platform built to restore trust online.
The app integrates an embedded fact-checking system allowing users to verify any post directly within the platform through verified and neutral sources, without interrupting the flow of conversation or discovery.
Its design framework focuses on data protection, and its feed architecture is designed to encourage exposure to diverse viewpoints, fostering dialogue and reducing the risks of algorithmic echo chambers.
eYou’s founders are Jasseem Allybokus and Grégoire Vigroux, two French entrepreneurs based in Bucharest for 10 and 20 years respectively, who chose Romania as the launchpad for a European-scale social media initiative.
Jasseem Allybokus is a serial entrepreneur with a background in building digital products and scaling technology ventures internationally. He has led multiple projects focused on user experience, AI integration, and trust-driven platforms.
As CEO of eYou, he drives the company’s strategic vision and oversees the technology and product development.
“Mainstream platforms are built to show users more of what they already like, reinforcing echo chambers and making misinformation harder to challenge. eYou is designed differently: a feed encouraging diverse perspectives combined with an integrated fact-checking system that allows users to verify any post instantly. It represents a new social media model built around trust,” says Jasseem Allybokus.
Grégoire Vigroux is a founder and investor based in Romania, with extensive experience across the startup ecosystem in Central and Eastern Europe. A serial entrepreneur with four successful exits, he is also the co-founder of the mobile app Bonapp and TELUS Digital in Europe.
At eYou, he focuses on sales, marketing, partnerships, fund raising and strategic development.
“Social media has reshaped our societies, politics, and even our sense of self. Originally designed to connect people and democratize voices, platforms have evolved into ecosystems of polarization and superficial engagement. eYou is not simply another platform. It is a reset. A new starting point,” says Grégoire Vigroux.
The startup secured 300,000 euros in pre-launch funding from Fil Rouge Capital, a venture capital fund investing in early-stage companies from pre-seed to Series A, with combined M&A and financing track records exceeding 4 billion euros.
“At Fil Rouge Capital, our motto is ‘capital for the bold.’ eYou is precisely that: a bold Romanian-born startup with global ambition. We believe eYou has the right founders, the right vision, and the right timing to build a major social media app,” says Matei Dumitrescu, Partner at Fil Rouge Capital.
As part of the pre-launch phase, eYou is officially opening a waitlist.
Over the coming weeks, users are invited to register on a dedicated landing page to be among the first to access the platform once it becomes publicly available in May 2026.
Early registrants will receive priority access, the opportunity to choose their handle, regular product updates, and exclusive perks as the platform progresses toward its official launch.
They will also be recognized as founding community members through a dedicated Early Believer profile badge. Users can join the waitlist at: www.eyou.social
