    Partnership between ICI Bucharest and the Petrol – Gaze University of Ploiești, launched within the workshop on dual-use technologies and NATO requirements (P)

    The National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics – ICI Bucharest organized on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at its headquarters, the workshop “The Defense Industry Facing Dual-Use Technologies and NATO Requirements”, an event dedicated to debating the challenges and opportunities that emerging technologies bring to the field of defense and dual-use.

    The event brought together representatives of the academic environment, the defense industry, public institutions and the research environment, providing a framework for dialogue on the integration of NATO requirements into national technological innovation and development projects.

    The central moment of the workshop was the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between ICI Bucharest, through Dr. Eng. Adrian-Victor Vevera, general director, and the Petrol – Gaze University of Ploiești, represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Alin Diniță, rector. The agreement marks the beginning of a multidisciplinary collaboration focused on applied research and supporting national strategic objectives.

    “The signing of this memorandum represents a common commitment for the future. Through collaboration between research and academia, we aim to transform innovative ideas into concrete solutions, capable of supporting technological development and strengthening Romania’s position in an increasingly competitive digital and economic landscape,” said Dr. Eng. Adrian-Victor Vevera, General Director of ICI Bucharest.

    During the workshop, representatives of partner companies and the private sector presented case studies and concrete applications on the use of dual technologies, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the public, academic and industrial sectors in the context of new NATO requirements. At the same time, specialists from ICI Bucharest gave presentations on research projects and digital solutions developed, highlighting the institute’s role in supporting strategic defense objectives and technological innovation.
