WDP and Action sign agreement for 54,000 m² sustainable distribution center in Romania

    Published on

WDP has signed an agreement with Action, the fast-growing international non-food discounter, for the development of a new large-scale distribution hub at WDP Park Bucharest Ștefănești. The signing marks an important step forward following the project announcement in June 2025 and confirms the long-term partnership between the two companies.

The facility will comprise approximately 54,000 m² of modern warehouse space, located on a 15-hectare site with the potential for an additional 20,000 m² expansion. With construction set to begin in early 2026 and delivery scheduled by year-end, the project represents an investment of around 40 million euros. The building will be leased to Action through a long-term triple-net lease agreement of at least 15 years.

This official signing is a key milestone in our collaboration with Action. It reflects the trust built between our companies and WDP’s commitment to delivering future-proof, sustainable solutions for our clients.” – Jeroen Biermans – Country Manager WDP Romania

Sustainability at the core of WDP’s strategy

The project will target BREEAM Outstanding certification, incorporating photovoltaic panels and advanced energy-efficient systems. This new distribution centre underlines WDP’s ambition to set a benchmark in sustainable logistics development, while supporting Action in strengthening its regional supply chain.

    Reinforcing WDP’s growth pipeline

The official signing highlights WDP’s ability to convert its land reserves into value through tailored, pre-let developments. WDP has already added 150,000 m² of new pre-let projects to its pipeline this year, reinforcing both long-term client partnerships and sustainable earnings growth.

    Strategic location for regional expansion

Located at WDP Park Bucharest – Ștefănești, the new hub offers excellent connectivity to Bucharest, major road networks, and key local markets.
