HELLENiQ Renewables Romania, the Romanian subsidiary of HELLENiQ Renewables and member of HELLENiQ ENERGY, a leading integrated energy group in SE Europe, today announced the acquisition of two large-scale renewable energy projects in Romania, signaling the company’s strategic commitment to the country’s energy market.
Specifically, HELLENiQ Renewables Romania has acquired from established local developers:
- a 96 MW RTB wind project in Galati County, with construction to commence shortly and commissioning expected in 2027
- a 186 MW Wind with a 186 MW/186 MWh BESS Ready-to-Build (RTB) hybrid project in Vaslui county.
These new investments further strengthen the company’s presence in the Romanian RES market, adding to an existing portfolio that includes 211 MW of photovoltaic projects under construction and a substantial project pipeline under development.

The new acquisitions in Romania are part of a broader 6 GW RES development portfolio that includes also Greece, Cyprus, the Republic of North Macedonia and Bulgaria, and aligned with HELLENiQ ENERGY’s target to reach 2 GW of installed RES capacity by 2030.
