At the end of June, the conference “Beyond Borders: Eastward-Oriented Energy and Infrastructures” took place in Padua. Organised by Tonucci & Partners, and held under the patronage of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania (CCIpR), the Consulate General of Romania in Trieste, and Intesa Sanpaolo, in collaboration with Dr. Giovanna Endrizzi and Corriere del Veneto, the event brought together business leaders, experts, and institutional representatives. The central themes discussed included geopolitical dynamics in the Balkans, Romania, and Ukraine, the processes of European Union expansion, and economic and investment prospects in energy, infrastructure, and industry.

A particular focus was placed on Romania, which is regarded as a true strategic pillar in the region. Its macroeconomic stability, agricultural potential, developing infrastructure, and strong relationship with Italy have transformed Romania into an appealing hub for European investors.
In this context, the intervention of Mr. Mirco Maschio, President of Maschio Gaspardo S.p.A., garnered significant attention from the audience. The Maschio Gaspardo Group, which has been present in Romania since 2003 with its factory in Chișineu-Criș (Arad), is the country’s leading manufacturer of agricultural machinery and a prime example of successful technological integration and bilateral collaboration.
“Our mission is clear: to be the trusted partner for farmers, offering them solutions that enhance their work and contribute to the progress of local and international communities,” stated Mirco Maschio.

The company’s President underscored the vital role of modern and sustainable agriculture, emphasising that it is key to addressing global challenges such as climate change and the increasing need to streamline all aspects of large-scale farming. “Technologically advanced agriculture not only generates economic value but also contributes to a better future for society as a whole,” Maschio added.
Addressing an audience of investors and leaders from the energy, infrastructure, and ICT sectors, Mirco Maschio provided concrete examples of how technology can support not only agricultural productivity but also resilience and sustainability. With the backing of innovations developed by Maschio Gaspardo, Romanian farmers benefit from high-performance equipment that optimises resources and reduces environmental impact, thereby strengthening Romania’s position as a regional leader in smart agriculture.
Today, Maschio Gaspardo represents a successful model of Italo-Romanian economic cooperation, demonstrating how foreign investments can generate local added value and accelerate regional development. “Our commitment to Romania remains steadfast. We believe in this country’s extraordinary potential and its capacity to become a benchmark agricultural and industrial hub in Eastern Europe,” Mirco Maschio highlighted.
The conference in Padua reconfirmed not only Romania’s strategic importance within a European context but also the significant opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations with Italy. Through its example, Maschio Gaspardo inspires other companies to invest in Romania, laying the foundations for a modern, sustainable, and competitive economy.
