“Last year we signed leases for almost 80,000 office spaces, which was over 20% of the total market. There were also new companies entering the market, relocations of existing companies, but also extensions of existing contracts.
The word on everyone’s lips in recent years has been wellbeing, which is a hot topic and a much-sought-after aspect in the post-pandemic period that represents a differentiator in attracting employees back to the office,” Andreea Cotigă, Head of Leasing Office, CPI Romania said at Workplace of the Future organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
Key statements:
- These changes signal a redefinition of value in the commercial real estate segment, in the sense that the units of measurement are no longer just occupancy, yields, rent levels, but also refer to employee productivity, health, flexibility, etc.
- Office owners and developers who have noticed these changes have transformed in recent years from simple providers of office space to providers of experiences and service partners.
- We have managed to set new standards in the local office market since we developed and started implementing this myhive office concept 10 years ago, which is about employee comfort and wellbeing. It is a very tenant-centric concept and our goal was to support employers in offering benefits to employees.
- We have a community management team with a strong hospitality background, who coordinate projects and regular activities dedicated to the myhive community, i.e. all employees working in our buildings.
- Managers in tenant companies feel a double pressure. On the one hand, they have to implement the corporate strategy regarding the hybrid way of working. On the other hand, they have to provide colleagues in the teams they coordinate with those feelings of belonging, purpose, flexibility, career development opportunities. It is very difficult to do this in a hybrid working model sprinkled with challenges.
