    Published on

    Distribuție Energie Electrică Romania, Sibiu branch, is carrying out the investment work “110/20 kV Sibiu West transformer station in the municipality of Sibiu, in Sibiu county”.

    The works, completed at a rate of approximately 90%, aim to modernize the medium and low voltage electrical networks through:

    • Construction of a 110/20kV transformer station;
    • Construction of a 110 kV connection through an underground electrical line which also allowed the extension of the 110kV network (2×1.8 km);
    • Construction of several 20 kV connections through underground electrical lines which also allowed the extension of the 20kV network (3.79 km);
    • Digitalization of the distribution network (automation works, new protection circuits, control circuits and the creation of a modern telecommunications network, necessary for the operation of the station).

    The execution of this work, worth over 70 million lei, financed from European funds through the Modernization Fund, aims to increase the quality of the distribution service by:

    • ensuring the security of the electricity supply to existing consumers in the service area;
    • ensuring the possibility of connecting future consumers by expanding the distribution network;
    • ensuring the optimal operating parameters of the networks, according to the requirements set out in the Performance Standard for the electricity distribution service.

    The investment represents a firm commitment of the company to improve the quality of distribution services and ensure a safe, efficient and sustainable energy system.
