“ENEVO is a newer company in the Romanian energy sector, but we already have an 11-year presence on the market. We are waiting for the financial results for 2024, but I believe we are the largest renewable project company in Romania. We are targeting a turnover of 150 million euros in 2025, almost 1 GW installed and under installation in photovoltaic projects.

We have a very high demand in terms of installing batteries for energy storage. All photovoltaic parks in the last 4-6 months have requested the installation of batteries. There is a fantastic effervescence in this area of the energy sector,” Razvan Copoiu, Deputy CEO, ENEVO Group said at Energy CEO Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.

    Key statements:

    • One of the challenges is automation/digitalization. Many new power plant projects are emerging that produce energy, but we still have to work on digitalization.
    • The entire electricity grid in Romania must be as digitalized and flexible as possible so that we can integrate new production capacities and reduce the risks of blackouts as happened in Spain and Portugal.
    • We invest a lot in people and their development. A few years ago, the company had 30-40 people, and now we have a team of over 400 people if we also take into account the division in Saudi Arabia. We want to develop a generation of specialists who are able to ensure the automation part of renewable energy projects.
    • As of this year, there is a European directive NIS2 that imposes new rules on the cybersecurity of networks and information systems. Any electricity producer must install a cybersecurity system by the end of the year. Otherwise, there is a penalty of 2% of turnover, up to a fine of 10 million euros.
    • I believe that the cybersecurity part in the energy industry will be strengthened more and more thanks to this NIS2 directive and we will be better protected from possible cyber attacks or human errors.
