    Romgaz posts net profit of 3.2 billion RON, up 14 percent in 2024

    Romgaz Group recorded in 2024 a revenue of 7.92 billion RON, down by 11.91 percent, namely 1.07 billion RON, as compared to 2023 revenue (9 billion RON). Net profit of 3.2 billion RON was higher by 393.89 million RON than the net profit recorded in 2023 (14.01 percent).

    Achieved net consolidated profit margins (40.43 percent), consolidated EBIT (43.88 percent) and consolidated EBITDA (51.49 percent) dropped (except net profit margin) as compared to 2023 (31.24 percent; 54.41 percent and 60.01 percent respectively).

    Investments made by Romgaz Group in 2024 amounted to 3.2 billion RON.

    Estimated national natural gas consumption for the reporting period was approximately 106 TWh, by 3.5 percent higher than the consumption recorded in 2023. Import gas quantities weighted 18 percent in the total consumption, by 11 percent higher than in the previous year.

    Total natural gas deliveries from Romgaz internal production to the domestic market were roughly similar to 2023, recording a slight decrease of 0.8 percent. Therefore, these deliveries had a 48 percent weight in the total national consumption, a 2 percent decrease as compared to 2023.

    Natural gas production reached in 2024, a volume of 4,962.7 million m3 , namely a 3.64 percent increase related to 2023 production.

    In 2024, Romgaz electricity production was 880.342 GWh, by 8.55 percent lower as compared to the production of 2023. This evolution is strongly related to the energy demand, the evolution of prices on competitive markets, fuel quantity allocated for electricity generation. According to preliminary data published by the National Statistics Institute, Romgaz market share is 1.67 percent.
