Rețele Electrice România has launched a 23 million lei public tender through the SEAP platform, aiming to acquire remote control peripheral units for medium and low voltage networks, in order to maintain the energy infrastructure at modern standards. 

“The new remote control equipment is essential in building and operating a modern and intelligent network, through systems that can identify and isolate faults in real time. We continue our goal of implementing solutions that contribute to decreasing the number and duration of network outages. We are investing significantly in the development, digitalization and resilience of the distribution network infrastructure in our concession area.”  said Mihai Pește, General Manager of Rețele Electrice România.

The system is a technology that allows remote control of switching and maneuvering devices in the electricity network, without the need for intervention teams to move in the field. This significantly reduces the duration and frequency of power outages.

The acquisition of new remote control peripheral units and the replacement of existing ones with a new generation will ensure the continuity of power supply for existing users and easier connection of new users, increasing the degree of cybersecurity, improving remote control and automation processes, monitoring and fixing breakdowns in a short time span, as well as decreasing the costs associated with equipment maintenance and network operation.

The procurement contracts for the remote control peripheral units will have a duration of 36 months and a maximum estimated value of 23 million lei. The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2025. 

Rețele Electrice România operates networks with a total length of about 134,000 kilometers in three important areas of the country: Muntenia Sud (including Bucharest), Banat and Dobrogea, covering a third of the local distribution market, and develops an investment program to improve the quality of services, safety and performance of the networks and the local implementation of the environmental standards of PPC Group. The electrical networks operated by Rețele Electrice România amount to a total of 289 transformer stations and over 25,000 transformer substations.
