    Ruxandra Lupșa, Eastern Europe HR, Director, NXP Semiconductors: We have a historically low attrition rate, at the lowest level – maybe in the industry – below 2%

    ” The most important quality of a company is to be versatile and adaptable to the generational specifics, to the industry trends, to the socio-economic context. The company culture must be transmitted correctly, fluently and permanently top down, and at the middle management level, we really discuss about the climate of a team,” said Ruxandra Lupșa, Eastern Europe HR, Director, NXP Semiconductors within the panel talks of the recently held event People Empowering Business Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.

    A middle manager does not influence the company culture, but transmits it, spreads it, encourages it, and the middle manager is directly responsible for the qualities of the climate of a team. That is why we constantly train our managers to create a warm climate in their teams. We have a historically low attrition rate, we are at the lowest level in the industry, we were even below 2%, given that we recruited over 500 employees in the last 4 years. Within the company, perhaps the most important need of employees at the perception level is to know that they are visible, that they are listened to and that they are given feedback in a transparent way. We have developed a platform where employees are encouraged to send their suggestions. Regarding the hybrid work model, it cannot be generalized so that, within the company, we have made the way it is applied flexible, depending on the needs and specifics of each team. We have thus left it up to the managers how to administer this type of model.

    But nothing can replace interpersonal interaction. We have managers of all generations whom we encourage to use all their people management skills, to make competent decisions regarding the program that each team member has. Competent and responsible freedom of choice is fundamental. Also, listening and introspection are the two key aspects in creating an organizational interaction of leadership and team management. The better you know yourself and those around you, the more you can correctly capitalize on personal and team potential.
