Lucia Iliescu Brădean, Country HR Manager, Continental România: Mature generations adapt much more easily to changes and can act autonomously, without the need for step-by-step guidance

Regarding mental health, we need to support employees in maintaining and improving it. So, together with Regina Maria, we developed a psychological counseling line for employees. We noticed that there are colleagues who just want to be listened to and access this service daily, said Lucia Iliescu Brădean, Country HR Manager, Continental România

within the panel talks of the recently held event People Empowering Business Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.

Thus, the indicators showed that the stress rate at work decreases. In the current context, with the emergence of AI and technology, administrative processes will be strongly impacted and the role of those with the HR Business Partner function will change significantly. They become those advisors who are involved in counseling colleagues and employees and beyond the organization, including personal problems.

Generations aged 50+ adapt much more easily to changes, are accustomed due to their experience with these aspects and at the same time, can act autonomously, without the need for step-by-step guidance. Younger generations, under 35, are less resilient to change, perceive shocks more strongly and are allowed careful and applied guidance. Because we are a very large company, with many employees, this also defines the large scale of diversity. Regarding hybrid work, in an organization like Continental, this aspect is fundamentally related to the trust in the members of the organization that they are responsible and achieve their work objectives, regardless of where they carry out their activity. But in this type of work, there must be clear rules, structure and performance indicators.

Regarding the coaching area, we have developed a reverse mentoring program in which 90 students mentor employees from different generations. It is an extremely effective and revealing program for those involved.
