Packeta Romania doubles its network to over 1,800 online stores and partner sellers

    Published on

Packeta Romania, a global digital platform for online commerce and a member of the Packeta Group, announces the expansion of its network of online stores and partner sellers to over 1,800, almost double compared to a year ago.

Additionally, nearly a quarter of the total online stores and partner sellers now deliver products outside of Romania, almost double compared to the previous year – reflecting a growing interest from Romanian online stores to access international markets and diversify their revenue streams.

In parallel, Packeta Group has invested in expanding its network of pick-up points and improving the services offered internationally. Currently, Packeta Group has a network of over 16,000 own pick-up points, including over 6,900 Z-BOX lockers, and more than 144,000 partner pick-up points, delivering parcels for over 49,000 online stores.

“All these efforts create a favorable context for the platform’s partners, facilitating the delivery process and accessibility for customers. We continue to improve our infrastructure and services to support our partners in achieving their business objectives”, says Alexandr Jeleascov, Managing Director of Packeta Romania.

International expansion represents a significant opportunity for Romanian online stores, and its success largely depends on strategic partnerships with logistics service providers, which offer flexibility in delivery options, personalized logistics consultancy, fast deliveries at competitive prices, efficient return solutions, local support, and expertise in target markets.

For deliveries outside the country, online stores and partner sellers are mainly oriented towards countries in proximity to Romania, the Balkan region, and other European countries with significant Romanian communities.

The integration of Packeta Romania services with local and international platforms and marketplaces has significantly contributed to accelerating the process of expanding international deliveries for Romanian online stores. Additionally, partnerships and good collaboration with over 70 international carriers have had a significant impact on reducing international delivery times and costs.

This year’s growth has also been driven by optimizing delivery processes and offering various options, such as pick-up points for dispatching, collecting, or returning parcels, delivery to the customer’s address, and delivery in lockers, tailored to individual customer preferences.

For 2024, in the cross-border segment, Packeta Romania plans to double the delivery volume compared to last year. Additionally, process optimization and delivery time reduction, implementation of artificial intelligence and automation solutions, which can revolutionize logistics processes, and increasing the competitive level in this industry will favor the expansion of cross-border commerce.
