Serge Offers, CFO of ING Bank Romania, is the new President of the Netherlands Romanian Chamber of Commerce (NRCC) for the next two years.
He has replaced Tom Leene, Managing Director at GKN Fokker Engineering Romania, who held the presidency of the chamber during 2018-2020. Tom Leene recently left Romania, after living here for 3.5 years, and moved to Amsterdam.
Serge Offers has been the Chief Financial Officer of ING Romania since 2018, but he has 15 years of experience in the banking industry. Prior to this appointment, he fulfilled several senior leadership roles within ING Group and was a representative in the Dutch and European Banking Federations.
Next to his position at ING, he is the vice-president of the recently launched Romanian Diversity Chamber of Commerce which focusses on promoting gender equality as well as equal rights and opportunities for Roma, LGBT and people with disabilities.
“I am extremely honoured to be appointed President of the NRCC. My initial focus, in my new role, is about reconnecting with our members as there was limited opportunity for networking last year. Moreover, I am going to work more closely with the NRCC task forces and our representatives in CDR, I will also continue to invest in the good relationships with the Romanian government, the Dutch Embassy, and representatives of other associations”, said Serge Offers, president of the board of directors, NRCC.
