Romgaz establishes new branch at Drobeta Turnu Severin, aims to become ‘active player’ in the gas supply sector

    Published on

The Board of Directors of Romgaz has approved the establishment of the branch Drobeta-Turnu Severin within S.N.G.N. Romgaz. The company feels the necessity to develop its activity, including, but without limitation to, the natural gas supply activity to the end customer also in other areas than those covered today by the current work locations and branches.

Romgaz also mentions it needs to efficiently manage its participation in the development and supply projects regulated by the Memorandum concluded between S.N.G.N. ROMGAZ S.A. and S.C. Mehedinti S.A.

Through this MoU, the parties agreed to establish a collaborative partnership for the development of the Thermal Points project for the production of thermal energy. The cooperation between the two parties will contribute to the development of advantageous and fast implementation practices, in the interest of the final consumer to ensure continuity in heat supply.

In the development of the mentioned project the aim is to use natural gas for the production of the thermal agent.

Adrian Volintiru, General Manager of ROMGAZ, mentioned during the MoU signing event on September 11 that “the signing of the MoU between the two companies and the establishment of the Drobeta Turnu-Severin Branch is, in fact, the first step taken by ROMGAZ to become an active player on natural gas distribution and supply market.”
