President Klaus Iohannis said on Monday that “there will be a need for Romania to extend the state of emergency”. In this regard, the head of state said the decree will be drafted this week, and next week the state of emergency will be extended for another month.

“We have come to the conclusion that it will be necessary to extend the state of emergency. In this way, I ask the Government to come up with proposals to be included in this decree. During this week, we will elaborate the text of the decree and at the beginning of next week I will issue a new decree that will extend the state of emergency by another month,” Iohannis said.
