The shareholders of Hidroelectrica approved today, in an extraordinary meeting, the sponsorship of a number of seven medical institutions, with emergency units, with a total amount of 10 million RON. The decision was taken as a result of the exceptional risk situation for the public health generated by the spread of the new coronavirus, and in the context of the constant increase of the number confirmed by infected persons in Romania.

“Supporting Romanian hospitals has just become the number one priority in Hidroelectrica’s sponsorship policy. We all see at this time the pressing needs of the national medical system, of those at the forefront of the battle with the pandemic. We know that there is a great need for first aid equipment, protective equipment, cleaning materials, sanitary equipment, disinfectants and other essential items used to protect patients and staff. It’s time to be supportive,” said Bogdan Badea, President of the Hidroelectrica Directorate.
