    ANRE to take European funds to ease the process of changing suppliers

    The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) wants to access a European funding line of 20 million RON, for the Project of Developing the institutional capacity of the National Energy Regulatory Authority to simplify the process of changing the electricity and natural gas suppliers, from the appeal of the Operational Program Administrative Capacity 2014 – 2020, according to a presentation made by Claudiu Sorin Dumbraveanu, General Director of the General Directorate for Energy Market and Prices of ANRE. According to him, ANRE wants to sign the financing contract by the end of 2019.

    According to the presentation, currently, as provided by the regulations in force, the process of changing the electricity supplier lasts 21 days from the date of notification by the final customer of the intention to change the supplier. Thus, there is a need to shorten, simplify and automate the process of changing the supplier at national level.
