In the first half of the year, Alpha Bank Romania recorded a gross profit of 9.9 million Euro. The value of loans reached 2.6 billion Euro, mortgage loans registered an annual increase of 5.6%, up to 1.13 billion Euro.

Deposits in the Alpha Bank Romania portfolio reached 2.44 billion Euro, growing above the market pace, with 16.3% compared to 6.2% at the system level.

The rate of non-performing loans decreased to 3.7%, compared to the same period last year, when it stood at 7.5%.

Operating revenues increased by 6.6%, reaching 68.7 million Euro.

Operating expenses advanced by 9.7%, mainly as a result of the increase in the contribution to the Bank Deposit Guarantee Fund, as well as the increase in personnel expenses.

“Alpha Bank Romania recorded an increase in operating revenues and an improved risk profile in the first half of this year. Loans have been in a positive trend, while the deposit portfolio has grown well above the market growth rate, reconfirming the confidence of our customers. The new bank premieres in the first part of the year proved once again the innovative spirit of Alpha Bank. If in 2001 Alpha Bank opened the mortgage market, in 2019 our bank successfully made the first issue of mortgage bonds in Romania, the bonds being listed on the Luxembourg and Bucharest Stock Exchange,” said Sergiu Oprescu, Executive President of Alpha Bank Romania.
