Filip & Company assists Autonom on the acquisition of Business Lease Romania

    Published on

Filip & Company law firm has provided legal assistance to Autonom Services S.A. in relation to the signing of the agreement for the acquisition of 100% of the shares in Business Lease Romania S.R.L. from Business Lease Group B.V., a subsidiary of the Dutch AutoBinck Group.

The transaction represents a new step in Autonom’s development strategy in Romania’s operational leasing market and will help strengthen the company’s position in this sector by expanding its vehicle fleet and customer portfolio and integrating the expertise of the Business Lease Romania team into corporate fleet management.

The closing of this transaction is subject, among other things, to obtaining clearance from the Competition Council and authorization under the foreign direct investment (FDI) review mechanism, as per the applicable law.

“Autonom is a truly unique company that strives every day to grow by learning how to do things better. They have demonstrated that it is possible to build a strong business, grow steadily, and compete successfully in a market long dominated by international players. And this transaction also speaks to the evolution of the local market: we’re no longer just talking about organic growth, but about consolidation, the ability to integrate businesses, and building for the long term. This is an important new milestone for Autonom, and we’re glad we were able to contribute to this project. We thank the Autonom team for their trust and for the excellent collaboration”, said Alexandru Bîrsan, managing partner at Filip & Company.

The Filip & Company team that advised Autonom on this transaction was led by Alexandru Bîrsan (managing partner) and included Alina Stancu Bîrsan (partner), Andreea Bănică (counsel) and Paola Nardelli (associate). For competition-related matters, assistance was provided by Cătălin Suliman (partner) and Roxana Roșca (counsel), and as for the financing matters, the team included Alexandra Manciulea (partner) and Camelia Ianțuc (counsel).
