Auchan celebrates 20 years in Romania with customer offers and new community projects

    Published on

In the year marking 20 years of presence on the Romanian market, Auchan Romania continues its anniversary initiatives with a programme bringing together thousands of offers, benefits for MyCLUB Auchan members, family-focused experiences and community impact projects.

Throughout the anniversary period, Auchan has prepared thousands of offers across all departments, with discounts of up to 50% on products from all categories. These include direct discounts available to all customers, as well as benefits dedicated to MyCLUB Auchan members. Between September 30 and October 11, customers can also receive 30% back as a bonus on their MyCLUB card when purchasing products from the entire LEGO range. The campaign also includes special offers in the Gastro area, including menus with discounts of up to 50%.

“Twenty years alongside Romanian consumers have taught us that relevance comes from the value we bring into people’s lives every day. Our customers’ needs have changed, and we have evolved with them, while maintaining the same responsibility: to make shopping more affordable and simpler. Auchan’s 20th anniversary in Romania is an opportunity to thank, through actions, the customers who have been with us along the way. That is why we have built this anniversary period around the things that define our relationship with them: low prices and tangible benefits, experiences that families can discover together, and initiatives through which we contribute to the communities we are part of. Each of these, in its own way, conveys the same message: Simply, thank you,” said Raluca Mindirigiu, Marketing and Customer Relations Director, Auchan Romania.

On October 12, 2026, starting at 6:00 p.m., Auchan is bringing back the Champion Offers Race, one of the activations dedicated to the anniversary celebrations.

Participants will have to put together a shopping cart containing 20 pre-selected products. The first three participants in each store to complete the challenge will be declared winners and will receive the 20 products free of charge, along with a RON 200 loyalty voucher.

In addition, throughout the anniversary period, from September 30 to October 20, orders of at least RON 300 placed on auchan.ro will benefit from free delivery.

Starting September 30, 2026, Auchan is launching Mondo Aventura, a campaign combining collecting, play, learning and digital exploration.

At the heart of the collection is a magnetic world map, completed with collectible magnets. The experience continues in the Mondo Aventura app, where children can explore countries and continents through a 3D adventure, take quizzes, unlock badges and earn rewards.

The campaign is integrated into the MyCLUB Auchan loyalty programme and is available both in stores and online. For every RON 25 spent, MyCLUB users collect one digital stamp; after collecting four stamps, they receive a voucher that can be used for participating products.

The collection is complemented by children’s exploration accessories, including binoculars, compass whistles, umbrellas, ponchos and reusable water bottles.

The campaign runs until January 4, 2027, while vouchers available in the app can be redeemed until January 24, 2027.

The 20th anniversary celebrations also include a major social responsibility component. Through the “Little Houses for Little Houses” project, Auchan Romania, together with Habitat for Humanity Romania, is supporting the construction of 10 homes for families in vulnerable situations, through a contribution of €625,000.

Customers are invited to join the initiative by purchasing collectible construction houses available in all Auchan stores. Proceeds from their sale will support the construction of real homes for families in need.

The project also includes an educational component: Auchan will provide schools in 18 cities with construction-based educational kits designed for group activities with students. By building toy houses together, students will have the opportunity to understand why some families need support to access adequate housing and how a community can contribute to such a cause.

As part of its anniversary initiatives, Auchan is also encouraging the collection and recycling of used batteries.

For every 10 batteries handed in for recycling, MyCLUB Auchan members receive an instant 20% discount voucher on the entire battery range, available through their MyCLUB loyalty card.

Batteries can be handed in at the Customer Service desk, where the quantity is recorded in the ReCycle app. After scanning their MyCLUB card, the voucher is automatically added to the customer’s account.

Over its two decades of presence on the Romanian market, Auchan Romania has evolved alongside changes in society, the economy and consumer behaviour — from a hypermarket-focused model to a complex, multichannel ecosystem offering integrated solutions for customers and partners. Throughout this evolution, the company has maintained its focus on low prices, while supporting and developing Romanian producers and Romanian-made products.

To date, Auchan Romania has invested more than €750 million in the country, developing one of the most significant multiformat retail networks in the Romanian market.
