Leroy Merlin, a retailer specialising in construction, home improvement, decoration and gardening, opened its first store in Brăila today, September 16, marking its 26th store in Romania following an investment of approximately 14 million euros.
The new store has a total area of 8,500 square metres, including a 5,600-square-metre sales area and a 2,900-square-metre Drive area dedicated to customer pick-up and vehicle access.
“We carefully assess the areas where we believe Leroy Merlin’s products and solutions can meet a real need and where we can play a relevant role in the local community. In an economic environment where people are increasingly mindful of their budgets, we want to support our customers by offering low prices every day and solutions that help them complete their projects, regardless of their size. The opening of the Brăila store is a step in this direction, and we are pleased to begin building a long-term relationship with the local community,” said Mathieu Bauduin, CEO of Leroy Merlin Romania.
In Romania, Leroy Merlin operates 26 stores across 16 cities — Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Ploiești, Pitești, Brașov, Constanța, Sibiu, Suceava, Târgu Mureș, Bacău, Iași, Timișoara, Oradea, Târgoviște, Brăila and Arad — and has a workforce of more than 3,700 employees.
