LaDoiPași reaches the 3,000-store milestone in Romania

    Published on

The LaDoiPași proximity store network, developed by METRO Romania, reached the 3,000-store milestone nationwide.

“Today, without any exaggeration, we are making history in Romanian retail. We are opening 100 LaDoiPași stores in a single day and passing the 3,000-store milestone nationwide. This is an achievement that speaks to entrepreneurs’ trust in this business model and to METRO’s proven ability to support the development of entrepreneurship and independent retail in Romania. In the year in which we celebrate 30 years of activity on the local market, this moment demonstrates what can be built when a strong partnership develops consistently, for the benefit of entrepreneurs and local communities,” said Karan Khurana, CEO METRO Romania.

The 100 stores opened on 18 June are present across all regions of the country, in both urban and rural areas. These openings bring together entrepreneurs who are at the beginning of their collaboration with LaDoiPași, retailers who have chosen to modernize their businesses by joining the network, as well as existing partners who continue to invest and grow by opening new stores.

The LaDoiPași concept was launched by METRO Romania in 2012 to support local entrepreneurs in developing their businesses in the communities they belong to. In 2017, the network entered a new stage of development, with the relaunch of the concept and the definition of a strategy built on three essential directions: developing and expanding the network, strengthening commercial competitiveness, and developing the LaDoiPași brand.

LaDoiPași stores generally have surfaces ranging between 60 and 200 sqm and offer between 3,500 and 7,000 products on the shelves. The assortment is built around the needs of the local community and combines essential products for everyday shopping with local and regional items.
