Hidroelectrica has appointed Iulius-Dan Plaveti as President of the Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer, following a decision by the company’s Supervisory Board. According to a report submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange, Plaveti’s mandate became effective on May 29, 2026, and will run until November 7, 2027, subject to his resignation from any positions previously held in other public or private companies.
The appointment follows the executive selection process conducted in accordance with Romania’s corporate governance legislation for state-owned enterprises. At the same time, the Supervisory Board appointed Mihail-Dan Stan as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Prior to joining Hidroelectrica, Plaveti served as President of the Executive Board of Complexul Energetic Oltenia, a position he held from 2023 until his appointment at Hidroelectrica. He also led Hidroserv SA, Hidroelectrica’s maintenance subsidiary, between 2018 and 2021.
The leadership change comes at a significant moment for Hidroelectrica, which remains Romania’s largest electricity producer and one of the most valuable companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. The company plays a central role in the country’s energy transition and security strategy through its hydropower generation portfolio and ongoing investment projects.
